Soul, born Aphiwe Ngwenya and raised in the 031 (Durban), in her own words says she sings for three reasons, “to tell my story, I sing for happiness and love, and practice my calling of music that God has simply given to me to give upon others.” A singer, songwriter and actress, A.P. Soul fell inlove with
music at the tender age of 4 years
acquiring a taste of music from both her
parents, her mother having deep
connections with Soul and Jazz and
her father who listened to reggae, sould
and blues. A.P. Sould draws her
musical inspiration from the likes of K
Michelle and Jill Scott, and one can
hear the influence of Tamar and the
Beyoncé.
